Residential Aged Care operators seek ways to diversify income streams, manage risk and innovate in response to funding and regulatory uncertainty and changing customer expectations. The growth of co-located or continuum of care communities that offer a wider range of accommodation options and services has emerged as one response to these dynamics. Some of these communities are conceived holistically from greenfield beginnings and others evolve by unlocking underutilised real estate or the partial repurposing of existing residential care operations.
This presentation explores the site considerations, economics, market appeal and the delivery of co-located seniors’ living communities with a particular focus on extending existing residential aged care operations to the continuum of care model. We will explain how combinations of independent living, assisted living, home care and residential care can work together to provide today’s consumer with more choice and flexibility in leading an active and engaged lifestyle with the assurance of support and care as their needs change. We will also cover the business benefits of this model to operators as a means of differentiating and future-proofing their businesses.
Case studies will be drawn from our client pool and will include some of Australia’s leading examples of modern seniors’ living developments that have responded to this opportunity. Our presentation includes insights from our primary research into emerging customer expectations as well as the design, development, service delivery and financial models that are at the forefront of creating a seamless and holistic approach to resident wellbeing.
